Some eligible Georgia families may be able to have a family caregiver hired by a GAPP agency to provide authorized personal support in the home.
Nobility Home Care Services believes families deserve clear information before they decide whether this option fits their child and household.
When a child qualifies for GAPP and personal support services are medically necessary and authorized, an eligible family caregiver may be considered for employment by the agency. The caregiver is an agency employee who provides only the services, tasks, schedule and hours included in the approved care plan.
This option is different from being paid simply because you are a parent. It does not replace the authorization process, the child’s medical plan of treatment, or the agency’s responsibility for quality and supervision.
Yes. A participating caregiver must be employed by the GAPP agency, follow agency policies, complete required onboarding and training, and document the authorized care provided.
Yes. In-person CPR certification is part of becoming a family caregiver. You do not need to be certified before contacting us.
Nobility does not provide CPR certification, but you can explore in-person CPR classes through the American Red Cross near your city or ZIP code. We can help confirm the right course before you schedule a class.
GAPP eligibility and medical necessity are reviewed through the program’s authorization process. Nobility can help gather information and coordinate with the child’s physician, but an inquiry does not guarantee approval.
The option depends on the child’s eligibility, authorized services, the caregiver’s qualifications and the agency’s ability to staff and supervise the case. We review those details with each family.
Our Georgia service territory includes Cobb, Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton and Rockdale counties. Contact us to confirm coverage and staffing availability for your location.
Tell us about your child’s needs and your county. We will explain GAPP intake, personal support services and whether the Family Care Option may be appropriate for your family.
Information is general guidance and may change with Georgia Medicaid policy, authorization decisions and agency requirements. Nobility will confirm current requirements during intake.
